Strike Off Fun

RP Farm Round

Anyone who really knows me, knows how much I loved/love sheep. I was in 4H for 9 years, showed sheep 8 of those 9 years. I had a little female lamb my first year I named Sugar Baby (I was like 9, give me a break šŸ˜‰ ) Now in 4H we are raising them to sell. I fell madly in love with my girl and when it came time to sell her I was crying so bad I could barely see where I was walking hahaha So, my grandpa bought her,and gave her back! He let me bring her home and she became my breeding project for the next 7 years.

That was almost 20 years ago now, when I first fell in love with sheep! It is my dream to someday own a farm again and have a few sheep as pets. But, for now I keep my love of sheep around me in my clothes, and little trinkets and such (My grandma got me the most beautiful sheep decoration for Christmas this last year even)

But anyways, on to the fabric šŸ˜‰ haha So when Sara at RP Custom Fabrics said she was doing a farm round I begged for sheep. And she delivered!! I seriously love how cute this print is. I wanted to sew it up in many forms so people could see it on all sizes. I ended up getting 5 items from my 1 yard of fabric! I was pretty impressed with myself but more impressed with the fabric itself.

First I made an itty bitty Preemie sized Night gown and hat for a friend. This was my first time making one but it was really straight forward and easy. I love the lil cuffs that fold over on the hands so you don’t have to do separate mittens. It is so small and cute it almost fits my daughters 18″ Doll, though it is a little long in the sleeves and loose in the body.

Up next I made this ADORABLE 3m Dress for one of my closest friends. She also showed sheep in 4H like me, all those years ago. She was kind enough to let me use her adorable 11 week old baby to take some pictures, and in return I gifted her the dress. This was my first time photographing such a small baby and man was it hard! lol getting her to smile proved to be difficult, I took 250+ pictures and filled my memory card! But I am so happy with what we were able to come up with! She is absolutely precious ā¤ The dress pattern is the Me Hearties from Patterns for Pirates with an added lace ruffle sleeve.

And Finally, I HAD to make something for myself. I was working with 1 yard for all projects but I did know that I could do it. I made the Tranquility Shorts from Rogue Patterns, which is a sister group to RP Custom Fabrics! Then I had just enough left to get myself a pair of socks out of the scraps!! I seriously love these. Not only are the comfy but they make my sheep obsessed self so happy! Of course it needed a matching shirt, so plain white tee and black HTV to the rescue ā¤

This beautiful sheep fabric along with many other farm inspired prints are available for a couple more days only!
